The Empire State Building is warm white on non-special occasion days.

Really? Because just a few days ago I saw it lit red and blue, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a special occasion (unless it's some holiday I know nothing about, such as national hug day.) And I think it's more of a light yellow on MOST non-special-occasion nights.

By the way, I'm really glad to see more cladding filled in. But did it really have to be on the one day I didn't check the earthcams?

Also, yesterday was May 2nd, the day the beacon went on the roof of the building. I wasn't here yesterday because I was busy, but I'm just acknowledging that mildly special day.

That's the schedule for the tower's lighting. It was lit red/blue on April 25th

Also, the white color may appear yellowish, but it's not. It's just a warm white.

If I remember correctly, the beacon hasn't been noticed as rotating for almost a month now.

Why was the building lit red/blue on April 25th? I don't see the schedule for previous lightings.

But I never knew the tower was lit for so many occasions, including the non-major occasions. And the schedule is pretty nice.

And on the website it says that the lighting is white. I guess the reason it doesn't look like an actual white is the same reason the top of One World Trade Center's spire looks purple and the bottom looks like the same color the Empire State Building is lit. At least tourists can be tricked into thinking that the Empire State Building is lit yellow and One World Trade Center is lit purple on top and a whitish-yellowish hue on bottom.

And isn't liking yourself like basically giving yourself a high five? I envy that you have that option.

If you do visit, be sure to get a good look at it from around Christopher St. / 7th Ave. -- In my opinion, there's no other view in the city that captures 1WTC's dominance over Lower Manhattan the same way.

It also looks nuts from Liberty State Park (and with those 2 shots, you get the wide angle vs the skinny angle)

Does anybody know why this glass piece is missing (red circled part in picture) and if it will ever be fixed?

Welcome! The cladding will be completed once all of the external elevator is removed.

There are defective panels around the tower, they are replacing all of them.

They don't, a series of storm-water trench drains collect the water and store it in recollection points for cooling.
