What is occupying the base?

Other than the information desks and building security at the entrances, what is taking up all the space in the base? There are no windows, so I assume it will be something other than office space. Maybe I'm wrong though.

On another note, I see the transportation hub is coming along. I don't care for it. It looks like a spiky taco.

The transportation hub is far from finished. It is still missing its "wings" which will make it look less like a taco and more like a bird. Plus it will be painted white.

I'd never thought of it as a Taco, but you're right. LOL.

NYC Trip

Hey Guys & Gals, I'll be heading down to NYC in the morning. I have my tickets for the Memorial and will be spending time there to see how different it looks from 6 years ago when I last visited. I am very excited to be going down from the Upstate area..

Seems a shame that's all : (

The corner of the 1wtc west plaza is starting to form, the blockages are being installed.

One year ago today, We witnessed the raising of the Spire at One World Trade Center We remember, We rebuild, We come back stronger. Below is my time-lapse of the construction efforts seen from Jersey City:

Last year, May 10th, 2013, the beacon was placed atop One World Trade Center. I thought the beacon looked beautiful.

I remember last year, waking up at 7 in the morning, watching the beacon top out. I remember how the beacon was lifted to the roof 8 days ago.

Now that it has been one year since the building topped out, I hope this is a sign that the building will be completed soon.

One year later this building has its external elevator half dismantled, the top of the building is complete, and the spire is lit permanently.

One Year Later: May 2014

Shouldn't the observation floors be open by this time next year? I'm also looking forward to when the mechanical space is finally lit up at night.

May I ask why everyone is more interested in the mechanical floors being lit than the building itself having permanent lighting? Because I think the construction lights look horrible. Is it because the gap where the mech floors are supposed to be lit an eyesore?

It'll be a good day when both the permanent lights are on and the mechs are lit.
