Conde Nast has its own gourmet kitchen for its workers. The food will be cooked and prepared there. They need the vents to air out the smoke and smell.

Birds have a much higher chance of smashing into 4 WTC as it's glass is so damn reflective. It's like a mirror!

I know it's in the rendering video, but I've heard different. Once the Observation Deck is opened, will there be a restaurant? I keep hearing that it's been canceled, and no, but hopefully they're all wrong. I'd love to have a dining experience similar to Windows on the World.

There will be several small sized restaurants located around floors 100-102. They will all be nothing like the class of Windows on the World, however.

Thank you! It's really a shame though, but at least we'll have food up all the way on the higher floors of a tower that is a new American icon.

You can dislike the design all you want but height? The building is extremely tall (Arguably the world's tallest outside of Asia) and will only be NY's highest roof for another few months, and second/third highest for another year or so.

Yes it could have been taller but it's still in the same height league as say, Taipei 101 or Guangzhou IFC or some other notable Asian giants if you wanna compare everything to Asia.

The height is still on par with world standards, but if I were you I wouldn't even respond to futile complaints about 1WTC anymore because everyone knows it's here to stay and not changing. We've heard the same complaints about the building a trillion times on this thread and at this point it's best to allow people to just express those same opinions while just ignoring them.

You're right, plus the building looks better every day, especially at night.

I agree with the "Freedom Tower" name thing. It sounds like something we built for immigrants back in 19whateveryear. But I have learned, that pretty much everybody outside of the skyscraper fan crowd continues to call it that. Mostly the media, including NYC's finest. It's literally been non-stop this week due to every news channel running segments about the outrage of the new "Freedom Tower" gift shop opening. And until that changes, which will be never, we will have to continue and cringe when that name is said out loud, or printed in a news article. It's really a shame, because a Tower as beautiful as this one, deserves better

The name "Freedom Tower" has become meaningless. The former Towers symbolized freedom more than this one. I will elaborate by noting how many pointless design changes it had to undergo. The plaza, the spire, scrapping the outdoor observation deck, etc. I understand why the changes were made but it just proves my point that this Tower will never live up to the originals. It's construction was surrounded by bureaucracy. When the originals were built, the only problem that existed were that people didn't want them built at first. Then they learned to accept them. The only things better about One WTC are obviously the massive concrete core and the glass. The lobby doesn't look all that appealing, even in the renders. This Tower only serves as a reminder of what we lost that day. Sure in 100 years people won't care or know enough about 9/11 because they didn't live through it so eventually it will have a chance to stand as just Manhattan's Tallest Building and not a replacement for the Twin Towers.
