Stunning. I was in New York last year. I remember walking from the flower district in Chelsea all the way down to Battery Park. This building was like a beacon whilst walking down Fifth Avenue towards NYU. Great addition to the skyline.

I never liked towers with monstrous antennas, they call more attention itself, of the building, in this case, too pollutes the appearance of the tower, but it will stay that way?

The red FAA light has been turned off the past 3 days to replace it. Since some kind of flashing light is required on a building this tall, they've been using the white strobe one.

Thank you for clearing this up. I saw the flashing the other night from Brooklyn and thought they were testing/repairing the beacon.

I didn't noticed that, but I think you are right. Based on the lightning, the clouds seem more like taken from a near horizontal angle, rather than a near vertical, which is the case of these pictures. Maybe in the last one it is the only original sky, mayb not either.

What I like about those pictures is the composition of the shape of the buildings, so I wonder if they actually look better with the fake sky, rather than the original one.

He also has this picture, of One Madison, that probably has a fake sky too, but in this case the contrast of the verticality of the building, with the horizontality of the cloud bands, actually add to the picture, even if it is fake.

Yes, however, the lack of work on the ray tracing betrays even more his intent of deception. Anyone who has taken physics class surely knows how predictable light behaves, especially when using mirrors. The Law of Reflection basically states that the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection. In other words, the light we see reflected on the facade is not the light shown on the background.

It's not about realism, it's about the art.

The base of 1WTC has got to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen on a skyscraper. How in the world did they get away with that?
