Is that the logo from 1 Penn Plaza? It is the correct angling.

They are not on sale yet. It will open in Early 2015, possibly.

Those red roof signs on One Penn are crazy bright, I can see them every time I fly out of NYC at night, and look back towards Manhattan. They pissed some people in Chelsea off when they were installed, but I love them, they give the building some color and skyline presence at night. Now if they would just do something about poor 1515 Broadway aka Astor Plaza, that thing's crown lights have been dark for a while now. What's up with that?

Sources: 1 World Trade Center to open within weeks

http://www.capitalnewyork.com/articl...n-within-weeks
Quote:
One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and the crowning achievement of the Lower Manhattan rebuilding effort, is expected to open within the next month, according to four people familiar with the matter.

Two sources said officials at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Durst Organization, the building’s owners, are looking at October 27 as a target date, but they have not finalized their plans.

A spokesman for Durst, without elaborating, said an exact day has not been solidified.

But the timeframe is far more specific than previous ones, which put the opening at any point within the fourth quarter. The skyscraper’s anchor tenant, Condé Nast Publications, has said it will move its employees into its new 24 floors of space in November.

The opening, which is likely to draw the city and state’s top leaders, will punctuate an emotional, politically fraught and arduous 13-year endeavor to complete the skyscraper.

The original design, by World Trade Center master planner Daniel Libeskind, was scrapped over security concerns. And the building that was ultimately built, which reaches a symbolic 1,776 feet, was plagued by delays and cost overruns before finally landing on track in recent years.

Now, at long last, it is almost complete. This many years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks reshaped Lower Manhattan, the neighborhood is finally nearing some sort of completion, with the museum open, the memorial accessible to the public and 4 World Trade Center also finished. The center’s gigantic transportation hub is taking clear shape now and is expected to open next year. Construction fencing seems to come down weekly.

But Tower One is the ultimate achievement for many involved. The building—once known as the Freedom Tower—symbolizes the post-9/11 rebirth of downtown. That it has attracted the century-old Condé Nast, whose magazine titles epitomize hip America and track the nation’s popular climate like nothing else, is even more a coup for those involved.

The company's presence has attracted other companies in the so-called TAMI sector—technology, advertising, media and information. As financial companies shrink in size and move elsewhere, TAMI tenants have become particularly coveted.

In addition to Condé Nast, which has taken floors 20 through 44 of 1 World Trade Center, the Port Authority and Durst Organization have also signed leases with China Center New York and the U.S. General Services Administration. Kids Creative LLC and Servcorp have also signed for a floor each. More than 30 floors still need tenants.

From my sources, be expecting an opening the last week of October through first week of November. I will not share an exact date, as it's still being discussed.

FINALLY!!!!!!!

I've been waiting so long for this building to open. It is my absolute favorite tower, and the one that got me interested in skyscrapers. Now it's finally going to open.

But imagine if it opened on Halloween. That would be pretty weird.

Well, "open" doesn't quite mean open, of course. 4WTC certainly doesn't give the impression of being open many months in.

Conde Nast will begin moving in once it opens, so yes, it will be very open.

If it's supposed to open in a few weeks, they better wash that damn thing first! There's still grime on every side

I need some clarification on the opening.

When the building opens next month, will construction related work be completed?

For example WTC 4 opened last November and there is still construction work going on in that building.

Well just because a building is "open," doesn't mean it's completed. Let's just clear that up right now. If the Tower opens at the end of the month, it will be just so Conde Nast and other tenants can move in and get to work. Tower 4 is "open", but not yet completed. I walked by the site the other day. The construction elevator is still coming down but making progress. The East side of the Tower, where the retail will be is still under construction. Still a lot to go with that. They have come a long way though.

Tower One is nearly complete outside on 3 out of 4 of its entrances. The east side will be finished last. I look forward to all those construction fences coming down on Vesey St. It will be nice when the fences connecting the memorial to One WTC finally come down too. I think they said by the end of the year. Plus PATH Hall is scheduled to open in December also. Great things coming. Soon the Observation Deck will open, I believe by May. The Mall is making progress and will soon be open. All we will have left is the completion of Towers 2 & 3. It will be cool once the Transportation Hub is finished. Just imagine if you walk from let's say Brookfield Place fka the World Financial Center it will connect you to the WTC Transit Hub and then finally ends at the Fulton Street Transit Center. Great things to come....

No, the building is completed. Maybe the interiors are not but that's for another forum altogether. The structure is done.
