I don't think it looks bad at all.

What an odd response, considering it was a done deal until Durst took charge. They even poured the skylight for the fountain.

Yeah, the stairways were a huge loss. They made the base much more inviting.

I love how they made the mech. floor lights match the construction lights
They change colour though, right? It won't be that white in the end?

No, they do not change colors. Only the base and spire can.

Besides, the construction lighting has more of a blue hue to it than the mech lights.

That's the old Consolidated Edison Building right off Union Square. A really overlooked beauty in my opinion.

That shot kicks a lot of A. That's the first time I've seen downtown from atop Confucius Plaza!

I'm not sure if anyone has passed the tower recently, but I did tonight and was surprised to see the canopy at the west entrance had "One World Observatory" on it. I figured it would be somewhere over there but thought ONE WTC would be on there like the other sides. I wonder what the East entrance will have.

They want the tourists to be ultra-sure of where the observatory entrance is. You don't want them to stumble in the main lobby (I guess that's what the planners seem to be scared of for some reason)
