Eh the twin towers were not that pretty (they were literally boxes); their appeal was that there was 2 of them. I rather like the tapering a lot on this tower. At some angles it looks like a truncated obelisk, and at some angles, it has the rectangular shape of the original 1WTC. It does a good enough job paying homage to the original tower and while also looking to the future. I really can't stress the importance of having 2WTC built for context as well before passing total judgement on it.

I don't know if its me but i think the red FAA lights on One WTC are kind of dim, or the brightness of the spire contributes to making it look dim. On other buildings nearby that red bright is quite stronger, and adds some cool effect.
