I wish the HD Earthcam was working. Looks like it has been frozen since Friday, nice sunny day.

That's a monster crane. 750 tonner. Anyone know what that's being used for?

Someone is over stating the max lift of the 18000. With a 120 foot heavy lift boom it can lift 661 tons (600 metric tonnes) at a 24 foot radius. No MAX-ER of course.
As configured at the WTC site it can lift about 67.5 tons at 140 foot radius.

Exactly what it needs to lift and place the 3rd column in from the west on the north side.

Progress...

I'm assuming after they get past the slightly slanted bottom of the building, things will speed up?

Which portion are you referring to? The walls of the base aren't actually diagonal, but appear to be because the corners are chamfered.

The lower podium is 186 feet high, above that is the actual office floors. Supposedly that is when we're supposed to see a new floor a week. I don't think they'll get to that height for another 6 months. Maybe they'll surprise us.

Hello Earthcam, I have a question. I like watching the construction of WTC1, but you can't seem to keep a simple camera/server functioning, why? Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday....same image.
