Great pics of the museum. Nice to see this great piece of architecture taking shape so fast.

It looks exactly like the renders.

What a grand gesture that would've been.

I said the same thing....about 100 pages ago. Great minds think alike, I suppose!

Seriously though, it would have been amazing.

Horrible idea. What would that symbolize? The beginning of our country in 1776 and the end in 2001.

Maybe they should have made the building 1776 feet and the spire x feet of the current year, so add a foot each year?

Freedom Tower Symbolism

That's the best idea I've heard so far! Of course, it may not be practical.

My idea for Freedom Tower:

110 Floors (original WTC floor count): Symbolizing a full recovery
1776 Ft to highest floor: Declaration of Independence
1791 Ft to Roof: Bill of Rights Ratified
2001 Ft to top of spire: Symbolizing the loss and sacrifice of the past
1000 Ft+ Beam of Light extending up from top of spire: Symbolizing the Hope and Determination of American civilization "reaching in to the sky."

looks like they covered quarter of Fulton street with something again, any idea? Looks to me they want to extend crawler path in order to set up tower crane?

p.s: more crane parts arriving overnight I actually can see a crane cabin laying on ground.

Yes, they covered it with dirt and wood...I guess they extended that crawler path to enable more working space for crawler crane or exactly what you said, fot tower crane...But Zen said that according to the plans, tower crane should be in the middle of the south side of the tower...

WTC1 is finally rising at normal speed. enough of the delays! hopefully the other towers will follow soon (as i hear WTC4 is currently on hold, or will be in the near future).

It looks like they're extending the crawler's path so that the boom can swing around 270 degrees. If that's the case, then this crawler might just be the one that's going to also help take the top off of the PATH station.
