Weak, very weak...

I had a dream that the downtown of my city was filled with skyscrapers (current tallest 14fl )

I was more disapointed when I woke up then, than after a "night" with J.Lo.

Stop showing off Duba´,your city will never overtake New York(that's their goal).Duba´'s projects are huge and great I agree, but the city in itself is 100% SUPERFICIAL,has NO HISTORY,NO SOUL,only built thanks the their oil, from A to Z...To me Duba´ is not worth it at all,I'll boycott it,it does not make me dream at all.

I look 4ward to going to New York for the 1st time, hopefully in a couple of years...

I love New York,I love London.

1) You can't have a history without doing something first can't you? Dubai is MAKING history. and you can't judge them as less than New York... Remember, New York had a boom once too.

2) To say that they are built on oil is an extremly ignorant comment... yes the U.A.E. is extremly rich in oil, but the city of Dubai's total income from oil is only 5-6%. One of the reasons that they are building so many projects is that they are RUNNING OUT of oil.

is that because you saw the web page http://www.wtcprogress.com/ stating that they expect the building to reach 20 floors by the 1 Qtr.?

#5 Rainy weather. :P

I can't wait to see this beast from Sandy Hook. I had a perfect view of Beekman Place today when I drove out there. Plus, the skyline still looks.. empty.

Here's hoping for 2013.

Actually, that crane is for demolishing the western part of the PATH roof, something the trucks from Greenwich Street can't reach. It's then going to put in glorious new roof arches for the station.

Everything behind the concrete wall is the memorial. Everything above the PATH station is the memorial entrance, sidewalks, parts of the new mall and about 50+ trees.

This thing should top out in 2011-early 2012 easy.

I was just thinking: I hope they are planning to bring back the restaurant AND the bar. NYC is sorely lacking both compared to Chicago. (1000+ ft in the air, I mean)

so that new tower crane u/c should reach to Greenwich Street? What lift capacity will it have? Those arches should be pretty massive.

The new tower crane is right next to Greenwich St, so it won't have any difficulty reaching it. I believe it will be used for constructing the museum pavillion and the remaining memorial steel (over the PATH hall). The yellow crane on Church St, which was used to remove the old H&M station is gone. I believe it will be replaced by an even larger crane. The new crane will either be inside the east bathtub or on Church St. It is supposed to be the largest crane yet and should be able to reach all the way to Greenwich St.

God can someone make this subject go away forever.

China is almost a slave labor camp and Dubai is like a kid in a candy store that just found a $20 bill on the sidewalk.

New York is reality, in the free world, 8 hour shifts, workers who are paid what they are worth, etc.

Yes, they do work 24/7 in 3 shifts, holidays are an exception.
