I believe the corner nodes are why the crawlers are still around.

Remember awhile back, Big red (east side) was reconfigured with a longer jib. My guess is so that it could reach high enough (with a reduced capacity) to install the corner nodes.

On the other hand I could be totally wrong, the tower cranes working together might be able to install them.

Probably by the end of January, weather permitting.

If they extended the boom of the East Crawler, then they are probably able to lift them. Even if they lose capacity, the corner nodes are a lot closer to the crane and should not be a problem.

What is the purpose of the chiller plant? I have heard about it a lot but I have no idea what it would be cooling down. The water in the pools? Circulation for an A/C system? I am not sure...

Chiller plants remove heat from large areas, stadiums, office towers, and malls have them etc.

But the next floor that goes in will still be a part of the base (podium) as well as the next floor after that. THEN, yeah, once the office floors start going in, it will really start looking like a building.

I have this vision of the site on 9/11/11 with there being a huge American flag hanging from close to the top of the building (which at that point should be around the 90th floor), facing the memorial. I mean bigger than the one they had on the building a few weeks back (which was still cool), kind of like the huge flag they had on the WFC once in a while. What a pretty sight that would be.

Great pictures!

This proyect has been moving really slow, or at least that is what we can see from the outside, but i'm sure the Freedom Tower will rise faster from now on.

We should all be jumping for joy at the progress which has been made since August 09

Great pics. If we look hard enough, we may spot the renegade who didn't join the lines
