where I live now, it's very cold in this season, the highest building here is not relevant to its height, and is commonly used for office

Wow that would be cool to see it done but yeah the FAA unfortunately will not approve it for maybe even half that size.

How about you tell me how many buildings are over the 2000 foot FAA limit in NYC and then we can talk.

Regardless, that's the first I've ever heard of that proposal and the only thing a google search turns up is the wikipedia entry and a few posts on message boards (including this one) from over a year go. There's no need for even more excess office space in Manhattan, especially in the form of some ridiculously large tower.

Not to mention the much higher insurance costs of anything that high. Silverstein took a lot of money off the insurers and they are determined to get all of it and much more back.

It says the developer is based in New York, but the website is in Germany. Sounds fraudulent to me.

No, it wouldn't have. Taller is not better. It would have destroyed the downtown skyline.

lol the FFA isn't the reason why theirs no 2000 foot buildings in NYC. And that limit only works if theres a airport around. NIMBA kills buildings in New York. Name one building here killed by the FAA.
