Portions of the 24th floor are being dismantled from the Deutsche building. Keep your fingers crossed.

Said many many times. The evacuation plan and security has to be high tech and perfectly organised. Underground building takes a long long time.

It's a storage tent for temperature sensitive equipment and material.

The perimeter columns above the base well be vertical, or slanted depending on what facet they are on. There well be no more diagonal columns.

The inner row of columns is to support the louver wall and well end at the underside of the 20th floor (the first office floor).

This is a quick sketch to show the rest of the work that has to go into the base before it's done. Just one more actual floor slab (one beam of which has already been laid), then the next floor slab is the very top of the base/floor slab of the first office floor.

I've actually looked inside it. It's just filled with equipment having to do with concrete, like those vibratrating hoses that get all the air bubbles out when the concrete is poured somewhere...I think, but I'm not a worker and neither was my guide, so neither of us was 100% sure on what the stuff was. Just equipment though. Nothing terribly exciting in it.

Over the past several years, yea, but that's because of all the complications with the site, and all the politcal/bureaucratic/financial issues... but in the past several months, it's really picked up.

No. Tower 4 isn't going to get red steel, because all of the steel in the lower levels will be encased in concrete because of their large exposure to the street.
