They added more here than I expected, on the webcam it's hard to tell. Looks great though, does the base look a lot taller now?

The workers have a Subway container to get their lunch at the workplace!!!!? With Subway food supplied? Or just an empty container, sponsored by Subway?

I haven't seen anything like that before in The Netherlands, so it surprises me...

Imagine how much time would they lose per month to get of the tower, take lunch and then get back up...I know, sounds like irrelevant time but I guess per month it's a lot of working time...

It is such a terrible shame. The new icon of American resilience, the next great American super structure, a project built on sacred grounds both figuratively and literally....

...is reduced to being a billboard for a disgusting and embarrassingly tacky fast food chain

That's certainly true and 'we' also use lunchcontainers at our 'highrise' construction sites, however not portable fastfoodrestaurants. Only an empty container in which workers can eat their own food. So that's why I was so surprised with this

Verizon Building is 498 feet tall. 500 ft would be about the 43rd or 44th floor of 1WTC. So I'd guess September or October.

Subway is a great restaurant...certainly better than most fast food joints. Not to mention, someone has to pay for it...so why not allow them to put their logo on their container to reduce costs?

Oh please. Next to no one knows that it's there, you can't really say that it's a billboard. The only reason it's up there is because it's insanely cheap compared to most NY sub shops, and workers waste a lot of hours on lunch break if they leave the site to go eat.

Also, lol @ subway being disgusting. I know it's pretty bland compared to real sub shops, but there's something wrong with you if you actually think it tastes bad.

I don't see any problem with it, the workers have to have a place to eat. Why not just put it in the tower? The reason they picked Subway is because it doesn’t need any electrical connections to run fryers and other large electrical devices. It's all in the spread.
