Thank you very much DinoVabec, your work is very helpful to us indeed
However I'd like to know whether work is gonna speed up once that "red part" is completed? (Because that specific stage looks pretty "slow" and difficult from an exterior point of view)

Many thanks,I love 1 WTC

Yes, once the base is completed, progress will definitely be bigger and faster...

It's Verizon building...And no, it's not going to be demolished...I guess they'll just use more electricity to light up the space, cuz WTC1 will definitely close this side...

Workers are laying down rebar inside the South Pool. Hopefully we'll get a concrete pour there in the days ahead.

Since the Verizon building is one of the most important examples of Art Deco architecture on Manhattan, and they $1.4 billion restoring it after the original 7WTC fell on top of it, that's a no. Just because it doesn't look relentlessly, hopelessly modern doesn't make it ugly. It's a beautiful building that has the misfortune of being dwarfed by its immediate neighbors.

What is wrong with you guys? You want to demolish the Verizon Building? You're insane.

^

And he is correct. It is a beautiful building in person.

Yes, then we'll knock down 70 Pine Street, The Chrystler Building, the GE Building, and the Empire State Building. It isn't like Art Deco is in any way associated with the identity of New York or anything.

No no, it's just that we hate Verizon in general. Building is okay I guess.

It's strange....years ago I used to think the Verizon Bld was an ugly building but now see it as an important link and rock to relate to development in Lower Manhattan...If you look at old New York pics you see it there looking bulky and sombre yet now its Deco is admired if not the best example in NY at least it's still there. New York has such density...Places like Dubai scream into the sky at points yet New York is the true evolution of a skyscraper city. When I look at the old WTC in this place it seemed to stand respecting the surrounding buildings yet was derided for the opposite? The new Tower (s?) seems sited relative to the block and original footprints without much regard for it's neighbours.....Then.....in years to come after completion they will grow as familiar and accepted. That's how the world works...That's how the Human accepts it's environment...just time...just time!

No need to attack me, but I think, that such a tall building should be built a bit more to the south as it was with former WTC tower.
