And that is just the framework I think. It might even take longer to see the glass because it says 'Complete Installation of Podium Glass' for Q2 2011. Almost a year to just install glass on the podium seems a little long but I might be wrong.

I've been watching the earthcam and it looks like they'll be done the perimeter steel in the next couple days for the sixth floor -- and have the floor girders done by the end of the week!! Next week floor 7?! ;-)

Iīm going to New York in July 2010, hope this building will have progressed by now.
Now there isnt a real icon in the skyline. Hopefully that will change when this monster is finished. Alot of people donīt see its NY when they see itīs skyline (not talking for us skyscraper lovers) but the general public, in 2013/14 they will recognise the skyline again!

And off topic; I always dreamed of living in NY, it sounds great to me, but now I read somewhere they did research and people in New York State are the most depressed people in the US, why?

Because of the weather maybe, winter ir horrendus here it's cold but you still don't get a lot of snow acumulation to "make it look pretty", it gets dark to soon but in the summer it's great the city really come to life great that you are visiting in july.

No icons in NYC really empire state, chrysler or any other tall building built in the 30s. Shit you be depressed to, doesnt matter if your poor or rich. The pressure to be on top is a bitch.

I know the base doesn't have any usable floors technically (mechanical), and the office floors start at 20 above the base. I'm just going off the physical count. Thanks for the clarification though.

The base or " miniskirt" does not appear as tapered as the renders.
