That won't happen for at least another, that is if nothing goes wrong.

I just found out that 1WTC has a spire that's an antenna; they both coincide. It's an antenna, but it counts as a part of the total height because there's a spire around it, which is a rare thing to see, so the CTB will accept this building as the world's tallest office building. The crown on top of the skyscraper reaches over 1,400' and contains antennas and other stuff. They need an observation deck there too.

Another turning point in American history. They take the towers down, we build them right back up.

I remember meeting the architect of this building, Mr. Libeskind, a few weeks ago at the opening of the ROM Crystal extension. I wished him luck with this building. He seems like an interesting guy.

When I am King if the World spires won't count no matter what they consist of. IMO the height of the "building" stops at the roof. If they want to make money by putting a fancy antenna on top great, but it shoud not count for any height records.

I have spoken, LOL.....

But what about buildings like Chrysler, American International Building & The Trump Building. Doesn´t the spire/flagpole/whatever count?

Not when I am in charge LOL. Chrysler for example would have to be referred to as a building of X height with a spire of X height on top.

You know that my tounge is planted firmly in my cheek with this. I just think it is really silly to look at Freedom tower and seriously say this bulding will be 1776 ft high.

It seems the camera has been focused on the footprint of 1WTC, providing a very high-quality shot of the construction area of the memorial; a part of me wants it to stay focused there for a few weeks so ignorant people can't complain about seeing nothing new where the core's going up.
Edit: Too bad, the cam is back to normal now.

This is kind of a dumb question, but why has the floor count been changed from 82 to 108?

I like everything about this tower except for that donut thing on the top of it. It doesn't go with the rest of the building at all. I thought I read somewhere a while back that they were re-designing it but haven't heard anything since. It's really fugly.
