To bring it to the site and set it up costs about $125,000 in labor and equipment, so I'm guessing at least that much if not more to relocate it. Rough guess would be about 240 man-hours, if it were straight time, but they are working nights and weekends. The cost is split between two contracts so it's not so bad.

Wow, nice find westmc9th !

The core resumed it's climb about 8 weeks ago, it's just very hard to see. After looking closely at some of the pics posted on page 692 the core has reached at least to the 3rd floor.

As meh_cd said, the steel had to get high enough.

I refuse to acknowledge this hotel as the World Center Hotel. If they think people are going to be gullible enough to think it's a part of the World Trade Center just because of its proximity and just because they gave it a name which is similar but not legally the same as World Trade Center, they should be ashamed of themselves. It's like when a tiny little studio makes some low budget movie and tries to make people think it's a sequel to a hugely popular movie by giving it a nearly identical name, though they don't explicitly call it a sequel to avoid a lawsuit. It's a cheap and dirty trick. They're even calling their restaurant/outdoor deck "View of the World", an obvious rip off of "Windows on the World" and "Top of the World". (And sadly, there probably will be a lot of people who think that it was built by the same people and is part of the rest of the complex.)

They are just shamelessly trying to make their tiny little hotel seem more prestigious than it is by immitating a name made famous by a tragedy. Screw that building.

silverstein pretty much has his own hotel in the works. Its funny in the render, the reflection off tower 7 shows a crane and nothing where that hotel should be.

There still isnt any new renderings of the new WTC complex from Brooklyn Bridge View, so i decided to make a quick on on MS paint. Ive used one of HK999 awesome photos to create this 5minute render.

Would be awesome to get a real computer generated view from this angle, that would be great.

Does anybody know why work on the current floor level seems to be going more slowly? Do the workers have to prep it differently than the one below it? I know that there was a built-in delay with the concrete core, but I can't figure out the lag in the steelwork going up.

Possibly taking out the big red crane and installing a third tower crane? Just a guess.

There won't be a third tower crane.

"Once the four corner nodes are installed on the building, the two red crawler cranes that you refer to will be removed from the One World Trade Center site. Both will be relocated and used to construct the World Trade Center Transportation Hub. The two existing tower cranes will be used to build the rest of the building." http://www.panynj.gov/wtcprogress/q_a_intro.cfm

On the same page there's also:

A. The building and the mast on top of it will top out at 1,776 feet sometime in late 2012/early 2013. Construction from this point forward will be done with the existing two tower cranes and a sliding crane on the northwest corner of the building. An indoor observation deck will be located in the top floors

Maybe not a tower crane, but something's going to be added.
