why don't they make the roof 1776 feet, and an incomplete spire at 2013 feet (or whatever year they finish it), and add a foot to the spire each year?

why does WTC 1 have so much mechanical floor space at the top (according to Culwulla's diagram)?

Epic comment. I had the best laugh in days. Thanks man, and completely agree with you, it's just amazing.

The Twin Towers were heated and cooled from a central chiller plant underground.

Tower One will have all it's systems within the tower.

Some of the "mechanical space" is for the transmitting equipment for all the antennas that will be on the roof (I think there are 2 whole floors for that).

There were 2 whole floors for that, before the deal with the MTVA fell through. There are still 5 floors for actual mechanical equipment, plus the roof.

The top platform of the communications ring is going to be 1,401' 5" above the lobby floor.

I don't get why they are calling the roof the 105th floor. They did the same thing with WTC7, there's a "53" sign at the top of the stairwell, leading out to the roof. It's just the roof! If the roof counts as a floor, then I guess the Twin Towers were 111 stories.

That's also a good idea.

Actually the roofs of the twin towers counted as the 110th floor.

Instead of randomly hammering away at your keyboard, you could have taken the effort to actually browse a little through this thread. Then you would have had an answer to your question.

(Which would be: NO)

In fact, I saw that diagram, I was thinking is it the last design they chose for One World Trade Center? Back to the original old one!?

Just some moronic fantasy. It's a good thing the Twin Towers do not get rebuilt as though nothing happened.

Quick two question.
The steelwork that we see now - is the whole tower going to follow this same construction or will there be concrete at any stage?
Given the progress to date, is there any reason that this tower will proceed at a faster rate?
Thanks.
