Formwork for the walls that surround the stairwell. There will be a stairwell at each corner of the tower, those are the fire exits.

They started doing some of the foundations for T3 a couple of years ago but then they stopped. There's a big hole in the middle of the T3 site where the foundations for the core will be.

That seems really slow? - Maybe they actually wait for concrete to set in NYC unlike Dubai!

The Burj Khalifa did not take 2-3 days per floor. I followed the construction of the building ever since it was at around the 30th floor and it typically went up at about a floor a week. The building tapered inward and the floors got smaller and smaller as the building went up, and around the 130th or so floor it because strictly a steel frame, no reinforced concrete, so at that point it sped up to about 3 days a floor, but 1WTC is designed completely different than that.

It isnt going slow, it depends of the construction system and as i can see, this tower keeps progressing in style.

Good to know! Those will apparently have the three foot thick concrete walls surrounding them for safety (so I've read).

The current design, though not very original, is the best out of all the proposed designs so far.

I just can never understand this, if you want to build a statue then build that, if the idea is to replace office space, then build what they are doing now!

Are they going to replace that freedom tower with 1wtc in legoland? it would look kinda odd having it there when the new one is built
