Guys, stop quoting the legoland picture already. You can refer to it by using words okay?

The granite cladding in the North pool is going at quite a rate, amazing progress there!

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but when will the base cladding begin? I assume they have done most of the steelwork and that the concrete for the stair wells is nearly done..

As uakoops already mentioned: there will be stair wells at each corner of the tower. They just begun with the first of them. Those stair wells will be sturdy as almost everything in this tower. It will take some time to complete them. Hence the concrete is far away from "nearly done".

Take a look at the ground floor plan and compare it with the latest pic.

Based on the floor diagram above, I see the sairwells butt up right to the corners. How will that work as the corners get narrower with height?

The stairs are in the core and go out to the corners just above the lobby.

Actually, the present design strikes me as fairly original. I'm interested to know which buildings around the world you have in mind as being similar to this design?

I count 49 passenger elevators (you forgot the 2 in the west and the 2 in the southeast) and 5 in the middle which look like service elevators.

There are 54 elevators at the ground floor (Lobby). Two for ADA access to the restaurant/observation deck that go down the the B2 level. Two for ADA access to the below grade retail and PATH. Five service elevators. Five elevators for the restaurant/Observation deck (the fastest elevators in the building) and Forty for office floor access.

Good to see you around these parts moochie, and good to see Indy in a NY thread, hehe.

Back on topic... I will be out in NY in late July, is there a good observation point of the site that I shouldn't miss out on? PM me if anyone has any suggestions. Also if there are any other must see sites... Thanks!

BTW NY, I love you and can't wait to see you again!

If Condé Nast does go forward with this, they would occupy more than 1/3 of the tower. One million s/f out of 2.6 million s/f.

I believe the Durst Group owns 4 Times Square. If that's the one you're referring too.

I'd be happy to see a big name tenant sign on. But I think it'd be nicer to see lots of smaller firms fill up these towers instead.

goldmen sachs has many building in manhattan and jersey for their business, so why can't Conde Nast take up some space in 1wtc without selling their building. Anyway nothing wrong with having offices in Lower Manhattan and Midtown
