Winter garden has a 2nd floor, walk up, you can see a lot from there. Also, you can get a pretty good view from exchange place across the river, as welll as from the numerous ferries that traverse the hudson. Don't forget the pedestrian croswalk either, that's on the west end of vessey street by the verizon building.

I felt odd about it for years, but now I'm good with it. Some things are so good they're okay to copy.. and now with the added signifigance of the 9/11 attacks, I'm proud to point it out and say that it was inspired by a New York structure near the WTC.. I just can't remember what it's called..

That is the winter garden. It's really quite beautiful inside, up some stairs, walking east as you acend, you go behind a translucent wall, where you can overlook the entire wtc site. On either side, on the ground floor, there are shops and stuff, the western side, the side facing the river, is across a plaza, lined on the one side with indoor/outdoor resturants, from the cove, where lots of yachts and sailing vessles and stuff are moored. You can walk from here to battery park, or up to the chelsea piers. Nearby is a theater as well.

If you look on the Earthcam right now, you will see a pumper sending concrete up to the office levels! This seems crazy. If the core will be concrete all the way up, shouldn't they have something already in place to accomplish this?

there is pump machine set up already next to a tower (norths side). I'm not sure why they are using truck pump machine, bu they have another pump set up already.

if you look where all the concrete truck are, that where pump is...

It looks like the pump truck on the south side is putting cement on the 5th floor. They must be pouring the floor slab.

As webeagle said, they do have pumps set up, one on the north side and one on one of the platforms inside the core steel. The one inside the core is like a mini version of a pump truck. I think there is a pic of it over at wtc.com.

It kinda looks like they might be pouring the blast wall. Follow the piping up the boom then it goes down inside almost at the top od the ground floor. What do you guys think? Lance

Upon closer inspection, I think you're right.

Draegen, with a cement pump and 1,300 feet of pipe.

Anyone know when they plan to actually build the entire blast wall around the perimeter? It would make sense that they would put it off as long as they can so that it's easier to move equipment in and out of the lobby, but they also have to finish the blast wall before they can start working on the glass prisms covering it, which I think it supposed to be done sometime around the 10th anniversary.

Look how tiny those trucks are in comparison to the structure! Man this is going to be one massive beautiful building!

What's this talk about blast wall...............!!!!!! Is there a new thinking that New York is about to be attacked at any moment ? I understand this building will have security, and be strong as a matter of course but heck.............This is a magnificent world city and let them live free and proud and have the strength to cope with any event without any forgone feeling of doom..........even this post stuffs what i hope for this city, I just want New York and this project to get on with living and be proud.

I did not walk past One World Trade Center in a couple of weeks until yesterday. I can easily notice the progression over this time frame, can't wait until it's done.
