the progress made in the last few weeks is just amazing! if they continue with this pace, 1WTC will reach the 60th floor by the end of the year.

At two floors every two weeks, they'll be just starting 53 and 54 by the end of the year. I don't think they'll hit 60, the PA said their target was 55-60 floors by the end of the year, looks like they'll be very close.

For those interested:

As usual, provided by our very own ZenSteelDude a while back. And the measurements are from mean sea level, so subtract something like 200-300 feet from those measurements to get the height above ground. Since the restaurant has two floors, maybe it will be configured similar to the restaurant/bar in the John Hancock Center in Chicago? The two are connected via their own set of stairs. Pretty good setup.

Uh....1WTC ground floor is nowhere near 200' above sea level.

It will still exist, it'll be right below the observation deck. And yes, the Subway is temporary.

I misspoke - of course it isn't. The Port Authority measures from the bottom of the river floor/whatever so that their tunnels do not have negative height values. Hence the height for the floors listed on that diagram need to be subtracted 200-300 feet. If the roof is 1368 feet above ground, how is the restaurant nearly 200 feet above it?

I believe the highest public floor is 1,280 feet high.

The last office floor is the 90th (1,120 feet). Above the 90th floor is three mechanical floors. Then four "public" floors (observation deck/restaurant).

The core steel was instaled today to floor 40 which makes 1WTC tower 453' 4'' or 137,616 m tall...

That makes it 283rd tallest building in New York right next to 510 Madison building...

With next 4 floors will pass Barclay Vesey building and 4WFC...

Not quite. Barclay Vesey is 498 feet tall. 4WFC is 500 feet. 42nd floor will take 1WTC to 480 feet (plus a few feet for the column splice).

I like the building. The space this one taken advantage of well. I believe that an alone tower was necessary, in this environment since it manages to give him a wide vision in height on the rest of the buildings that compete for coming mas above.

Regards from Arica Chile's city

Gorgeous shot! This thing is really turning out to be a beauty. After it's all said and done, when this tower rises, it'll be NYC

If diagrams are displayed in public observation areas I hope they include Metric measurements as New York is and the new WTC will be a high profile International destination. Most of the world understand metric over imperial measurements.

Yes, my mistake, I calculated it again, 4 more floors to take over Barclay and 4WFC...
