dimensions

"For the record, 1WTC is skinnier than the Twins by a matter of feet."

Wouldn't that depend on where you measure?

How wide is this tower at its widest point? And how wide is it at the top?

I believe the WTC was 200 feet wide, top to bottom.

The Twin Towers were 208' x 208'. One World Trade Center is 200' x 200' at it's widest, which is the perfect square where the tower rises from the lobby.

The Twins were almost 212 feet square, Tower One is going to be 205 feet square.

The demotions you quoted are column centers.

Thanks for the info. I also saw that each original tower had 3.8 million square feet and the current tower has 2.6 million. They are making this too small IMO

Would the total square footage of the new 1, 2, 3 and 4 WTC towers surpass that of the original 1 WTC and 2 WTC towers?

I am interested to know if the new WTC complex has more gross lettable area than the original complex - due to the sheer size of the new 2, 3 and 4 WTC towers - even though there is no new 6 WTC and one less "main tower."

1WTC - 2.6 million square feet
2WTC - 2.53 million square feet
3WTC - 2 million square feet
4WTC - 1.8 million square feet
5WTC - ~1.3 million square feet
7WTC - 1.7 million square feet

Total if built to full plan - ~12 million square feet

The original complex had around 10 million square feet I believe.

Oasis-Bangkok, do you know who's the author of those pics and when they're taken?

I know that..I guess it took so long because it was the first one...Those three should be faster...

Zensteeldude.........post...
The Twins were almost 212 feet square, Tower One is going to be 205 feet square.

Also don't forget the originals were 212 feet square at plaza level and at roof level.....
The new Tower may be 205 feet at the base but diminishes to half it's size at roof level. Guess the core must also reduce or the entire top floor would be core.......The originals had the core columns for the entire height.....

Zensteeldude, can you tell us or show us what's goin' on with the core as tower rises?
Because I saw it has a bit different shape at floor 75 and yet at 102 where's observation deck than down at 20th...What's goin' on with the core from 20th to 102th?
