Apparently the tower is no longer being referred to as the Freedom Tower, but instead as 1WTC. Not a bad thing IMO

I don't prefer the cheesy name "Freedom Tower" but I'd also prefer it not be referred to simply "1 World Trade Center" which would effectively kill the name/identities of the original WTC.

We can always call it the Elitists Tower in that it was picked by an elite lead by George Pataki.

Yes I would have to agree, Id prefer it all to be called the World Trade center, but this tower to have a significant or catchy name with as little cheese involved as possible.

As much as I hate all the complaints about it, I have to say that it will be embarrassing if the Chi Spire is finished before the FT.

At this point, that really is starting to seem likely.

I wouldn't find that very surprising.

Another scorching day in Gotham

July 31, 2007

on my way from 60 Wall street, I took a detour to the WTC construction site......most of the sidewalk is closed....except for the area around the PATH entrance.............

the whole area is buzzing with activity.

tourists most likely from the midwest...

It seems that progress on the Chicago Spire is flying compared to this building. By the way, keep the name Freedom Tower. It's a small price to pay to honor the memories of all who died on that very site. This beautiful building isn't just a functional office structure, it's also a memorial. Those who forget history are deemed to repeat it.
