All these buildings are boxy for a reason, because that is what New York is, it is a city of buildings that have faces parallel with their blocks, a city where space is of the essence. This building in my opinion is beautiful in a simple way. Like the empire state building, it isn't a very ornate building, but it is still beautiful, just as this building will be. It compliments the buildings around it, but also makes a statement for itself, and I think that's what the goal was and that's what the goal should've been.
Well said!

Thank you!

And has anyone noticed the spontaneous forest popping up at ground zero? The wilderness is reclaiming NYC.

I see that the progress in a last couple of months has really speeded up, i mean before we had to wait for like 2-3 weeks until the next floors would be added, and now it's like between a week and a half and 2, this is awesome

This poster articulates pretty well what I meant by the towers being "un-New York like" I'm not an architect, but to me a lot of New York construction has a utilitarian, "heavy" look about it. The World Financial Center is an example of this. The World Trade Center complex will have a lighter, airier, more architecturaly interesting look, IMO.

Looking at this panoramic view of the new plaza/memorial area, where abouts will "The Sphere" be returned on the WTC site?

Looks like the original location of the sphere on the former Tobin Plaza has been taken by the memorial building.

Don't worry, the pavillon doesn't take the original location of "the sphere".
