If I watched 5 videos like this of New York City, I would almost feel like I took a real trip to NYC.
Awesome video!

i already told you that the building copys itself, trying to look like an original new york skyscraper, but taking the progressive look from buildings around the world, a globalist work, i would've prefered something mor individual
On a positive note, I think some of this is true. I don't thing the building is unoriginal but I think it does evoke strong links with the twin towers and other New York icons - I see the design as a fusion of the towers that blend into each other as it rises. I also feel a real connection with other buildings - the sight of the metallic cladding made me think about the Chrysler building - I'm sure this is going to catch light and reflect it and become a stunning addition to New York. The Chrysler is in my mind 'The' NYC skyscraper.

I actually think this building (and with WTC2 next to it) will become more symbolic of New York than the twin towers were. To me the twin towers were symbols of power, finance, money and the strength of America. The new site will project, in my mind regeneration, healing, reflection and light.

Seeing this exciting building (and site) coming out of the hole in the ground is too positive an experience to be worried about originality, and to be honest creating a building that contrasted completely with what went before would have been a mistake. I think they got the degree of change and balance with Manhattan just right and I can't wait to see it come to pass.

i have to agree with a certain inarticulate dolt. it does look quite simialr(except the top) with a certain tower in incheon. i don't think that it's tooooo inspiring but we've built worse. it isn't even so much this building that i dislike as it's others in the complex that don't relate very well to each other. These buildings are nicely designed but yeahhhh!!!

@Mike____: You're right, I want to go to New York now too. Central park sounds so peaceful compared to the city.

I don't know about that. the final design for then freedom tower was june 28, 2006. the GROUND BREAKING for the incheon tower, also, known as the northeast asia trade tower, was in july of the 2006. i have to imagine that the render for this tower was out before the final design was for tc1. my sources aren't necesarily sound, so if you have some that contradict that, i'm open!

Honestly, the only similarities they have is that they're tall, blue, and made of triangles.

So what if it's similar..There's milions of towers and buildings around the world...You can't expect totaly diferent design on every building...

I certainly don't expect a different design for every tower. you clearly have taken my posts out of context. perhaps try to go back and follow the posts. another forumer was, rudely albeit, trying to say that there are many towers around the world that are similar. while i disagree, someone indicated that they want proof, i pointed them to nstr. it is my opinion that they look similar. the shaft is nearly identical. end of story. nowhere did i illistrate that MY expectations are, that NO tower anywhere should resemble another! i'm sorry did i miss that post i made? if you disagree with my OPINION, that's fine but i really don't need your help to make me look irrational.
