The Barcley Vesey once was a Art Deco building in New York, completed 1927. It then mysteriously disappeared in 2010. A mystery that has never been fully explained by now.

The base cladding is to be manufactured and installed by a joint venture of Solera/DCM. Solera does the glass part and DCM's fabrication division (MRP LLC) does the metal part. Then DCM puts it all up.

The cladding is rather interesting in the fact that it's not a glass wall. It's a wall of grating, either stainless steel or aluminum depending on who you ask, with prismatic glass panels bolted to it. There are to be 1 foot wide spaces between the glass panels vertically, so the building can breath. (All the ventilation exhausts out the base mechanical floors. The intakes are near the top of the tower.)

http://www.dcmerectors.com/

The glass for the base is coming from a Chinese supplier, the manufacturing of the panels is being done in the US.

Visual Aids. This is of the corner where the wall is slanted out, but the vertical walls are the same detail.

Hi all.

I finally added this project to my list of projects I watch and collect pics / info of. I'm not sure what took me so long but better late than never.

It took near a week of my spare time to go through the 5 threads here and collect 2912 pics.

Anyone have any links to pics of the WTC site from 2001 (after 9/11) to 2005 ? I found a few but would like many more.
Thanks.

Ray.

If they keep up their schedule of two floors every two weeks, they should hit the 54th floor by the end of the year. The 54th floor is 640 feet high. A hundred feet shy of 7WTC.

They are not building anything, but deconstructing the old Deutsche Bank building. They are very close to being done now.

Beautiful Monday in New York, a but windy but nothing important...
New steel for Tower One on the site...
And one thing bugs me out...Other day, we saw a few trucks with steel down on the site...They came, they gone, but they didn't put any steel up because of weather...And I don't see that steel anywhere there...Where did it go? And today, there's new steel...

Anyone seen the movie Hitch? I was watching it on TV last night and there's a cool scene where Will Smith and the woman get on jet skis at the docks outside the WFC and in the background you can see WTC7 under construction, with no glass or anything on it. Just thought it was a cool scene for fans of the WFC and WTC.
