Please do not quote the pic just above your post for just saying you like it. There is no need for it and it's annoying...

No, the rings are for communications antennas as is the spire.

Off topic, but would there still be room for an observation deck under the communications ring on the parapet, or would the radiation be a bit too lethal? Also, could the PA ever convert the communications ring into an observation deck if for some reason it was no longer needed?

Even if there were an observation deck on, or above the parapet the EM radiation would do you no good. There is a window washing track below the communications rings so that rules out a deck there.

It's a sad but true bit of reality, the open air OB deck that was on the south tower is gone forever.

(I'm glad I had the chance to enjoy it, three times.)

But surely the PA realizes that not having such an integral part of the observation deck experience might affect the massive amounts of tourist revenue they are expecting to generate. I could understand if they had 3 indoor observation decks complete with a food court, glass floor skyboxes and a cinema, but some puny, 17 thousand square foot indoor deck just doesnt seem very fun.

I think the render comparing it to the Sears tower may not be exactly to scale. Isn't the Sears tower 1,450 in height? If so it would be 100 feet taller than WTC1 and the WTC1 would not appear so tall next to it.

Can someone double check that?

And when it will be the installation of glasses? I have heard say that this work would begin in October, and we're almost in November and saw nothing.

Last time I heard something about the cladding the start date was in the second half of November. Seems realistic as the fireproofing for the first few office floors isn't quite complete yet, and as there are some preparations that have to be done after that, too.

Those pics are taken by NYguy, they're not mine...

But I know what you mean...I thought the same...But it's better to have more pics with identical view than not pics at all..

There was an information that they'll start around 20th October..But they obviously didn't...Then some articles said early November...We'll see...Just watch fireproofing as it climbs..
