In this perspective it seems like the old WTC towers are taller then the new one, even with the spire. That is not correct, is it?

Doesn't look nearly as tall as it currently is.

no, the new tower is 417m high to roof ,same as north WTC, the south WTC was 415m.

You must be pshycic, because you can see in the future. The building isn't nearly completed and you can already say that the old ones were better? I should wait for another year or two and then give your opinion about it.

He is allowed his opinion. I too like the twins better!

BUT, building something better than the twins would not be good, in my opinion. They should be remembered as the best of their time.

The complex will be great when finished, and we will always remember the twins.

That's true. But iconic buildings will not be easily be replaced by just building a new one. The status of a new building will be gained in the future after several years after being built. And then the old building will always be remembered as they were. It just like people, iconic people should not be 'replaced', but new ones will rise when they are recognised by them skills or talents. A new Michael Jackson will not be born.

Yeah, it should have been 1776 yards, not feet

In Madrid one building, looks like the Twin Towers. I think that building is designed, by the same architect.

Why One World Trade Center spire so tall ? I'd rather like a tall roof than a tall spire ...

It would have been cool if the roof were 1776ft plus a shorter spire. Any reason why this option wasn't explored? Either way a great building maybe halfway in height surpassing WTC 7 by the new year.

Maybe because it would have caused the tower to cost hundreds of millions of $ more? It's a pretty expensive structure anyway.

China uses cheap material rather than strong and with safety features.

I love the shape of WTC1, it looks like one of those 'impossible shapes'. It amazed me to see how all those triangles can fit together so symmetrically.

No, this is not about money...America doesn't need tall skyscrapers to show off...1WTC is designed like this because it has meaning...I don't know how many times we have to say that...The roof is at that height because roof of former tower 1 was at that height...And spire goes to 1776 ft beacuse this is year of US independence...
