That is a CUNY or SUNY building (can't remember which). as a university building it won't be a skyscraper.

BTW, CUNY is the City University of New York, the main public university in NYC and SUNY is the State University of New York, the main public university in New York State (which also has campuses in NYC).

Is the fire-proofing at level 28-29? The cocoon is whitened to that point.

I would agree..it looks identical. It makes sense that glass would be arriving now, as it should be going up very soon!

a hydrogen fuel cell is only as clean as the source of electricity used to produce hydrogen.
I would think fair enough if it is used as back up if there is a powercut, but if it is used continuously, then there is the power needed to produce the H2, plus pollution from transporting the hydrogen to the WTC.

Incredible progress though, I am amazed how quickly it is going up, and how small #7 looks now!

In China this tower would be already built ... It seems that US got the French syndrome, projects take years to be finished

It's all about quality, rights and safety of the construction workers and the rights of the people in general and thier ability to oppose the government in aspects of project development.

In china there are no such things and thus no such problems to delay progress. You get in the way and they make you move, you don't like what is being done you need to put up and shut up. So all take my rights over fastly built, mediocre quality buildings.

I agree with you about rights ans safety of the workers but it's a prejudice to think that Chinese supertalls are bad quality.

---------------
to finish this off topic conversation: even china had supertalls (ICC, SWFC) which took painfully long to build. and guess what: both towers are one of the safest supertall skyscrapers in the world! btw i'm not saying that fast pace = low quality.
---------------

so 1WTC has reached the 46th floor, that's great. can't wait till we see some glass panels installed, i for one will check this thread every day - just not to miss the action.
