Reflected in the glass is the facade of 7 WTC, across Vesey St. from the tower.

more good news:

1WTC will make its way into the Top 100 of New Yorks tallest buildings very soon. For the moment the Time-Life Building (build 1954, height: 178m) stays the 100th tallest building in New York. The Millenium Hotel is just a few inches/centimeters taller and will be overtaken by 1WTC very soon, too.

so what's this chess-board like cladding all about?

The render shows pieces that are equal and next to each other.

Why is there a normal glass piece, then one with a hole, and then another glass piece etc?

Temporary?

Yes, temporary. They say it is to make sure the alignment is perfect.

Wellaway! I came too late again to celebrate this moment, you can't always get what you want Cool tho, the glass panels look pretty much as I expected.

Why some of those pannels are without glass? Opening windows and the glass will be set later?

Yes, it has been a problem for me for a couple weeks or so. The indexing is screwed up. Your post was showing as #17699 on page 885. I then clicked page 886 and your post magically became #17707 (or maybe 17708) on 886. Refreshed browser and it was back to being 17699 on 885. Sometimes it takes a few refreshes or clicking last page to see new posts. I don't think this has been a problem in other threads for me, even ones that have a 'phantom' page (extra page number).

Edit: This message sometimes shows as being #17700 and is the last on page #885. Other times OldWorldResident's post shows as being 17700 and is the last on 885. While other times this post is 17709 on page 886. I think Draegen's post (the one after mine) showed as being the first on page 886 one time. Clicking page 886 sometimes reloads page 885. Not sure if reloading page 885 ever brings up page 886.

One way of picturing 1WTC in your head is to imagine the black netting rippling in the wind

Very nice glass
This will be a beauty when it's finished! I love the details of the tower which refers to the old twin towers!
