Yeah, Dino strikes again. Great shots there! It offers a clear perspective on the progress made in these latter days.

Thats false...the top of the spire for 1 World Trade Center will reach 1776ft (541.32m). Whereas the Taipei 101 spire tops out at 1,670.6 ft (509.2m).

Boss-tons post was actually correct. According to the accepted rules of height measurement, WTC1 is over 100 ft taller than the Taipei.

A bit off-topic:
Probably the WTC site will have a Performing Arts Center after all:

"WTC Arts Center, West Thames Footbridge to Get LMDC Grants"
http://www.tribecatrib.com/news/2010...dc-grants.html

A mock-up of the new Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center.

Core steel was installed today. So that takes it up to the 50th floor. 586 ft 8in (plus a few more for the column splice). Looks like they managed to shave a couple days off the normal two floors/two weeks schedule. We normally wouldn't see the new steel till friday.

It's scary seeing the foundation for 90 West held in place by a few braces like that while excavation continues for the Vehicle Security Center. After surviving 9/11 directly across the street, it'd be a shame to see the reconstruction destabilize a skyscraper that's been standing for over a century.

Fantastic pictures!

It was hit. It got stripped down to it's skeleton for evaluation but after it was determined the frame was sound they added another seven floors and coverted it to a hotel. The upper floors now block windows on 90 west and Thats why the upper floors peel away the way they do.
