Although I hate superlatives, I have to accept what many people say, namely that Prague is the most beautiful capital in Europe. Based on my experience I’ ll add another record: the most introverted people in Europe live in Prague.

Really? How long have you been in Prague? Did you carry out some psychologist research?

Introverted? Why? At least their neighbours in the south, says my dad, are very nice people.

But Prague looks gorgeous. I really like all the big palaces, the big buildings overall and the colours of the city. The mix of all those kinds of architecture in one place and the condition of the old town is superb. This is definetly a city I'm looking forward to visit and it's getting more and more popular among those from here who go to Europe. Thanks, hk!

I thought the people of Prague were very outward-oriented. They were ready to take in the crowds of tourists who frequent the city. In fact, I was surprised at how busy the city was even during the spring (supposedly off-season). People were able to communicate in English quite readily and there was even a police car in the town square with a banner showing counterfeit currency.

Despite my short stay, only four days, I was able to catch the overall atmosphere. Czechs do not talk very much to each other, and when they do talk, they do it very quietly and are barely audible. They do not smile to strangers and do not make eye contact. The tour guide who was with our group, a Czech lady around 35, did not smile to anyone of us, not even once. The only exception is people younger than 25, who are really open and outgoing. Maybe those who lived under the old regime were seriously affected by the rules that were in force in those times.

^ well, we're probably not so open as Greeks, but I don't think we are introverted in general. And the central part of Prague is moreover a case apart a bit. It's not easy to live there and not to be steamroller by noisy groups of tourists. That's the reason why more and more people leave central part of the city. Old regime count something for behaviour of people as well, that's true.

Introvertsion and Extraversion are normal, there is nothing wrong with being introverted or extraverted, its just a different way of processing information. Don't you know, Introverts have richer internal lives than extraverts, who garner most of their interest from the outer world. Please read up on the subject before making such negative statements about introverted people. They are often much more interesting than wild, loud mouthed types. Also, you can't say someone is all introvert, or all extravert, everyone has a certain proportion of one to the other, everyone has the capacity to be both at some time, but they tend toward one way usually...This is serious psycology here.

It is true that there is no clear dividing line between extraverts and introverts. We should rather talk of a scale that takes into account various aspects of human behavior. I did not use the term “introverted” negatively. You see, introverted people have some qualities absent from extraverted people. For example, I admired the disciplined and ordered way in which the inhabitants of Prague reacted during the floods in 2002. Moreover Czech people are not at all violent which made me feel very safe among them. Young people are also very good looking.

What's wrong with pessimism, actually?

We have one idiom here: Optimist is uninformed realist. Pessimist is informed realist.
so: optimist is just uninformed pessimist.

Haha, if that is what you think of Czechs, then I wonder what you will think of us Finns. Maybe you will think we are the most pessimistic, most shy, most quiet people around.
