Return of the Tram System?
Hey everyone,
I really don't want to start any rumours but I have noticed something very strange on the photo below. When you go to High Resolution you can see that they have removed the landscaping on different spots between the metro station and the Dubai Mall. Various plots have been fenced that stretch from the metro station along the Burj Place plot, Emaar Phase 1, Emaar Boulevard to The Adress Dubai Mall Hotel. The original concept for the tram system stated that the first phase of the tram would run between the metro station to a hotel and then to the dubai mall. The original plans showed a route that would go from the station, towards Standard Chartered, along the Doha Road to the Dubai Mall. What if they changed the plans, and chose a route that runs right through the development instead of the route that goes on the edges of DBK? It is just a guess but right now I don't know of any other project that they could be building here. I think it's for the pedestrian bridge from the metro station to the mall.

I was not aware of the pedestrian bridge, hence I thought it might be for the tram. I found a picture of the bridge on bncnetwork, and if that is the final design I can only say that it will be LEGEN...DARY!! Hope they start building these Burj Park towers soon.
 Area would look so much better without empty sand blocks.

Fire on Dubai Mall parking
On Friday night at approximately 11pm a parked vehicle's engine caught fire. The vehicle was located on the seventh level of the mall car park.
No one was injured and the mall security and concerned authorities swiftly responded to extinguish the fire. The local authorities are currently investigating the technical cause of this incident. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/gfiv32 |
