Roman Kitashov

With the central column being a little bit above the perimeteric ones, the current height is 430 m.

That photo above just reminded me of a question: Are there crane operators in those cranes or are they remotely controlled? And if there are indeed people in them, does that mean they have to climb 430 meters to get to their workplace each day?

Edit: Thank you for all the helpful answers.

Thank you for any answers, since I'm genuinely curious as I have seen multiple skyscraper construction sites with cranes attached from the outside.
Yes, there are operators in the cranes. No, they don't have to climb so high, there are bridges between the tower and the cranes at certain levels, so operators use tower elevators, go to their cranes over the bridges and then still climb remaining part of the way (up to a hundred meters I guess).

Here is an article with some information and photos about cranes: https://geektimes.ru/company/lakhtacenter/blog/288997/
It is in Russian, but you can use google translate or just look at the photos: a yellow arrow on one of them shows a bridge between the tower and a crane. And there are some shots from a crane's cab.

sometimes the cranes itself have Elevators inside them. so the Operators dont have to climb that much.

i guess they would love that in SPB, due to the temperatures they have over there
