Earlier it was outrageous. Now the placement is more acceptable. At least it will not spoil the beauty of Piter's historical downtown just for the benefit of Gazprom executives' prestige. The project in itself is very good. Thumbs up.

As you can see there aren't any histrical buildings.
To the right from that little port on the sand rectangle it will be build.
Down there you can see the new unfinished Gazprom arena (70.000).

Pretty good advertising fot the company when they play a WC 2018 game there.

I disagree. Look at the area where the building is planed to be built. There is nothing there. Without a few filler highrises around it, this building will look out of place, imo.

According to this article Gazprom confirmed this project a long time ago.
Even the UNESCO doesn't see any violation of the culture heritage.
The project is primarily planned as a HQ for the company.
It will start soon.
