Is that already the "official" schedule according to BA or the GDS? I wonder which source did you get those schedules...

That is the current official schedule, and seeing as the one they released at the beginning of the July says effective 30MAR13 the current schedule will more than likely be in place till then (with minor adjustments possible).

July stats are out for YYZ. Overall up, but international continues to struggle. I wonder why - with such a large increase in capacity this summer.

The trouble starts when the competition offers the cheaper alternative. Been there way too many times.

Air India are aiming to extend their DEL-Birmingham service on to Toronto. Taken from the BHX consultative committee meeting.

Quote:
"JL announced that Air India were launching flights to Delhi on Thursday 1st
August. The route will be operated by a Boeing 787 aircraft and will arrive at
1830 and depart from Birmingham at 21:30pm.. The service will operate four
times per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. JL has
attended a very positive event in Delhi to launch the service which was
attended by 250 travel agents as well as dignitaries. There was a great deal
of excitement about this service following a lot of effort in attracting Air India
back to Birmingham.
It is hoped this will be a daily service as soon as possible, with an aim to
extending the service to Toronto. Air India also wishes to expand freight
services."

So with all these new international routes, how long does it typically take for these routes to start filling up? If sufficient demand exists does it happen instantaneously due to most purchases being done on computer sites these days?

The reason I ask is that international traffic doesn't seem to be increasing despite lots of new routes announced over the last few years.

PK are adding a 4th weekly flight to YYZ....

"PIA has introduced 25 additional flights in its winter schedule 2013 including a new flight to Toronto making it to 4 per week"

source here: http://www.nation.com.pk/pakistan-ne...-recovering-md

Not sure which day of the week, or from which Pakistani city....

the trouble actually starts when the competition starts offering Far cheaper alternative. From my knowledge, YYZ-DAC is overpriced with every carrier that offers a direct or indirect connection. BG will offer direct flights which will be a huge advantage over others. Unless EK, 9W, TK, EY can offer cheaper fares, I am afraid they will be losing a lot of passengers.

oh and the route sounds like will be DAC-YYZ-JFK-DAC. BG wants to play it safe

It's strange to me that international pax traffic is down this year especially since May/June when international routes really started to ramp up. At the very least it should be flat.
