I can't for the life of me remember if there has already been a post for the exact start date of HU starting YYZ-PVG, but it looks to be on May 26th.

http://www.wcarn.com/news/32/32445.html

Quote:
The airline will deploy its Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the route with two flights weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. Flight HU7937 is scheduled to take off from PVG at 11:30 a.m. and arrive at YYZ at 1:50 p.m., with the return flight HU7938 departing YYZ at 3:50 p.m. and arriving at PVG at 6:50 p.m.
I know we all know of the route but I'm too lazy to check if a post for the start date had already been done. Oh well, no harm in having it posted twice

Air Serbia to YYZ in 2015/16

Reports are being circulated that Air Serbia (aka JAT) is looking to return to North America. Also from World Airline News back a few weeks ago. Surprised that I did not see this link sooner but here it is.

Re: Air Serbia - I'll believe it when I see it.

Don't get me wrong, the Etihad takeover has been nothing but a blessing for Belgrade's airport and legacy Jat Airways. New planes, tons of new routes, and 40%+ rise in pax levels at BEG.

Etihad seems aggressive in creating a powerful Balkan airline to tie all the small airports/cities in the region to Belgrade and then send them to AUH for Australia flights and eventually transfer 2 A333s to Air Serbia for TATL flights. The timeframe for ORD is next year and YYZ/JFK in 2016. We'll see if this pans through, but looking at the numbers as is, I don't see why not.

March stats are in and looks pretty good.

http://www.torontopearson.com/upload...-03-MarPax.pdf

Overall, pax count up 338K for Q1, 128K in the international sector. Summer will see huge bumps with all the new service.

Spot on! Expect OS/LH to dump the airfares... The similar scenario took place when Skyservice flew to BEG via Belfast. So an average local Serbs would still travel to Serbia via FRA/VIE/CDG/MUC...

I just think it is a right move at the right time. JU will need a bigger airplane to feed EY in AUH when they open up the new terminal. That bad ass terminal will generate some traffic... Picture in their new F class suites....
Here is an other thing, Etihad keeps paying the penalties upon overbooking, so as a domino effect, they have re route the passengers via IST. JU can fly these passengers via BEG to AUH with their two daily flights. Lets see what comes out of it.
