I agree with you - I could see it starting off as a YYZ-YUL-MAD flight, although didn't CSA drop YUL altogether and just operate out of YYZ at the end?
Correst, CSA did dump YUL a month or two before they finally axed YYZ/JFK as well.

May 22nd.

I brought my car from the cottage to test ride it after a long hibernation, so the YYZ was a must. Lufthansa 747 landed on a R24 which was very odd... On the flipside, I got the new BA 787, and and JAT's (Air Serbia) hero, ETIHAD.

BA 787 in as it came in

Some very oddball, rare classic 737. I tried to get a belly shot, but not 100% perfect.

The new arrival from Dublin. Not a bad catch... (Love the livery)

o yea.... probably has the nicest spot for talking shots of aircraft holding short or landing on 24. From Britannia rd, take convair dr and drive a little until the road curves left and u will see a slight hill on the right. Basically u walk up the hill and u will get an amazing view of the taxiway leading to 06L. But problem is you cant park the car there as security will shout u away. But if you are lucky you can stand there for a bit and get some great shots.

A Phlippine newspaper is reporting that Canada and the Philippines have signed an expanded air agreement, increasing flights for each country from 7x's weekly to 14x's weekly. Also some increase in 5th freedoms...

As much as I welcome the AC flights direct to Hawaii again, I'm not going to like the 1 inch less width and 2 inches less pitch than a 777 that goes via YVR, and having to use my phone to access "entertainment" and there's no USB/TVs on board.

I'll grab myself a portable power USB thing to charge my device I guess if I fly the route. I understand pull the TVs but at least give USB power. Even Premium Econ. doesn't have it on the 767 Rouge :/

Turkmenistan Airlines to YYZ is gaining momentum. CAPA is now reporting that those flights will begin. Also looks like AC will be resuming Delhi with the 787's - not really news, I know.

Yet another airline planning to start Guyana - Toronto service. Never heard of these guys, nor do I think they'll last IF they get approval.

Flying back to YYZ on the 787 tomorrow night from YHZ, J class. Will let everyone know how it is. Hopefully there's no aircraft change...

So, I had a chance to fly in J on AC's 787 and I have to say, that plane really does live up to it's hype. SUPER quiet, amazing amount of space on board and overall just a smooth ride. The wing pitch is really quite impressive, and flying through pockets of turbulence you can actually see the wing pitch adjust. Definitely less turbulence than normal. We also cruised at 40,000 ft, which is unusual for a domestic flight for sure, and even for long-haul in most cases.

The J pods are more spacious than the normal J pods in the rest of the fleet, and the seats themselves are much more comfortable. My only tiny, tiny complaint is that there is no cup holder in the pods (first world problem, I know), but it seems like an odd thing to overlook.

Beautiful, beautiful airplane!

Looks like Cebu Pacific may also be shooting for YYZ and YVR flights.

Dang... really? The largest aircraft Cebu Pacific has at the moment would be the A330-300, which has a configuration of Y414... I have doubts if that will actually happen since with that density and distance, it will require a stopover or two somewhere to address weight concerns. The longest flight it currently does would be Manila-Dubai (right now, it goes to Sharjah as a result of Dubai Airport's runway rehab project), and that's around 8.5 to 9 hours long to start with. If that airline operates to Canada, then it would be problematic to fly that Transpacific flight, especially with the actual distance between Manila and Vancouver.
