I've been following some news around THY Turkish Airlines wanting to fly here this summer too, but it seems like it may only be a seasonal service for now. |

My first post...
Does anyone have pictures of the new Pier F + Hammerhead at T1 in action during opening day or afterwards? I can find lots of pics of Pier F + the Hammerhead without aircraft, but can't find any online of it in operation. |

most of the trials had planes docked at pier f + the hammerhead so its essentially the same. Only difference is that duty free and restaurants should be now open.

Should have been more clear. I did go to the December trial and saw one A320 (?) parked at the Hammerhead, but was looking to see if anyone had exterior photos of Pier F + Hammerhead with aircraft (more than 1) at the gates.

they should take away the fencing at the bacardi rum bar, ruins a very open atmosphere.

Here is the official announcement about AF upgrading to the 747-400. They will be advertising at St. Andrew's subway station for the entire month. Things are looking up for Pearson.
1 000 additional seats every week - Air France increases seat availability on its Toronto-Paris route by 50% MONTREAL, Feb. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - Air France has announced that it is adding a considerable number of seats on its Toronto-Paris flights effective April 30. The airline will be operating a 436-seat Boeing 747-400 on this route, which means a 50% increase in passenger seating capacity. The Boeing 747s assigned to the Toronto-Paris route will be offering bi-class service, i.e. business and economy. The cabin interior will feature the airline's New Travel Concept, which includes seats that convert into lie-flat beds for travelers flying in Air France's l'Espace Affaires business class and a rigid hull that guarantees the integrity of personal space. With its new l'Espace Affaires, Air France has elevated business flying closer to that of first class. The Tempo economy class cabin interior has been revamped with a new aircraft passenger seat model and new inflight services where champagne continues to be served free of charge. "This increase in passenger seating capacity fits in well with Air France's profitable growth strategy. It clearly reflects our commitment to and our confidence in a dynamic market like Toronto, where we've been in operation for 30 years," declared Christian Lahccen, General Manager and Vice-President of Air France Canada. In February, one can feel the Air France ambiance on Toronto's subway For the next four weeks, Air France will be advertising the length of the St. Andrew's station to increase top-of-mind awareness among Toronto business travelers and to promote the airline's message Making the sky the best place on earth. This statement is about putting the passenger at the centre of everything with exceptional service and attention to their needs making for an efficient and enjoyable trip whether one wishes to relax or work. Air France has been flying out of Toronto to Paris for 30 years. Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport is Europe's busiest hub from which passengers can quickly access connecting flights to any of the airline's 185 destinations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia as some 70% of Air France's Toronto outbound travelers fly to destinations beyond Paris. |

Yea I loved the ads at St Andrew's, saw them last Saturday - it was sort of a shock as I've never seen an international airline going to such lengths (literally
) to advertise.

So, which airlines will now operate 747s to Pearson?
British Airways, KLM, Air France Does Lufthansa? I've only seen A340s when I've seen them at Pearson. |

Gee, the new terminal looks so.....Canadian.
Looks so functional and well built and shiny and is able to handle the growth of the airport for like the next 40??? years.. Looks nice though. And all those European airlines fly to Toronto. Looks very good at the moment for Toronto. |

Anyone else see that Air Canada is shutting down their daily Toronto-Zurich-Delhi service for the summer and then starting again in the fall. Have they gone mad!!??
Some good news though...looks like JAL will be starting a charter service to Toronto in the fall. Still can't quite figure out cancelling the Delhi run though. My understanding is that that flight was always full. They said that the aircraft need to be used on the Pacific flights. |

I was at the airport last night and there was something vaguely exotic about the aircraft lineup at T3 West Jet x2, TACA, Korean Air, Air India, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, El Al, Carribean Airlines.. hehehe
