No 29 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh

29 Waterloo Place is currently occupied by Howies.

We are trying to trace its history.

It was built in 1818 by Archibald Elliot as a convening hall for the trades of Edinburgh. It was used for society dances and balls in the Victorian era.

In 1964 it was converted into offices and it became a restaurant in the 1990s.

It was listed in 1966 and has an id number 29897.

Does anyone know what the building was used for in the 1940s and 1950s?
