The core seems to be getting smaller already, so what's the current height? Still looks like a lot of floors to come though

Actually, they say it is over 50 floors now and it is now taller than the Transamerica Pyramid.

The top of the outer forms is at floor 56. So, the height there is, (56-1)*15=825 feet.

The top of the inner forms framework is at floor 58, So, (58-1)*15=855 feet.

The top of the Transamerica is 853 feet.

Since the reconfiguration of the forms for the smaller core, we are rising at a rate of one floor every 3.5 days.

So, my estimate is 6 days from now (we last raised the forms yesterday), the top of the core (not the inner forms framework) will be at 855 feet. This means, on 10/10/2016, we should be higher than Transamerica.

Generally I'm pretty happy with this building. It is a game changer. However, I really wish this would have been built. It would have really made a name for itself and probably would, at least in my eyes, be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. https://www.flickr.com/photos/brunob...n/photostream/

Overall, I seem to still like that Hong Kong IFC building design better. Plus, it is taller too. I wish Salesforce Tower was even skinnier and taller. But, I won't complain too much.

Sigh. I try not to think about it. The SOM proposal was far and away the best of the three, but the Pelli design is shaping up to be more of a standout than anticipated. Too bad we couldn't have them both!

Indeed, that was my choice too. Wow time flies, it's like 10 years since the render contest.

At this rate my guess is by the end of the year late January we might see just the core completed. If they slow doing during holliday season it might be until mid february.
