you're right, you're harping on it too much, on both points.

When the cladding started, I was afraid that it wasn't gonna be glassy enough and would look rather dull on the skyline. I'm glad to see that not happen, it's the perfect ratio of glassiness and white tubes. This and the Fremont building are such great additions to the skyline!!

It is like a little protest of what they were they thinking.

Agreed, the glass has a nice amount of reflectivity, and that along with the color works really well with the rest of the facade. I also feel like the building looks slimmer than it was portrayed in many renderings. I can't wait to see what the crown looks like when it's done.

Was a crown really necessary? They could of added a observation deck up there. I really don't know what I'm talking about. Lol!

honestly, the cladding scheme is gorgeous and i think you're right with the glass. Not that i dont like the glassy stuff like WTC , i do, but having the white in there blends it into the skyline perfectly especially considering how much taller it is than anything else, unlike 555 California which totally does not belong on that skyline. I'll never understand it..........maybe they needed things built at that point in time, i remember both that and Transamerica built but was too young, about 12, to understand the aesthetics. I just loved them as i did all skyscrapers. I remembering as a 5 year old trying to use all my Lincoln Logs and building a structure as tall as i could . I'm pretty sure that wasnt the actual intent of the Lincoln Logs

I like this facade. Especially the horizontal banding gives it a lot of character. Much better than just glass.
