this ain't some anonymous " tallest building in town " in middle of our country the world could care less about , ya know

Salesforce Tower's US/ capitalism / economy of the present and future symbolism is on order of WTC's civic/financial symbolism representing the western world at the dawn of the Millenium 16 yrs ago

If you are going to make this argument, then what about cities like NYC, Chicago, LA, Hong Kong, and London with buildings with observation decks in office towers and they are high profile terrorist target cities? I'm not saying I don't like this building or not excited about it, but they made a huge mistake by deciding not to put a observation deck in the tallest tower in the city with great views and a international tourist destination.

Genius.

Die Hard doesn't need to be remade. I'm surprised The Towering Inferno has never been remade, and SF is its original setting.

" your " absolutely correct ..." irregardless " , that happens when I'm tapping fast on a tiny smart phone screen keyboard with spell check / predictive word enabled so that it is seemingly highlighting every other word for autocorrection and where it is so painful to carefully proofread before posting because of the combo of my typical for age 62 y/o poor contrast outdoor eyesight and the teeny screen font !

I dont remember if I have said it before, but this building has really turned out great. One of the nicest designs to be realized so far in America this decade. I almost wish it was built in Chicago, except for the fact that it fits San Francisco so damn well.

Definitively SF was in need of something more "round" shape standing out in the skyline, another boxy building would't worked out that well even if it was another super tall..I mean it would be okay but the shape of Sales Force is better.
