Wow, that first picture with Coit Tower is absolutely awesome. One of my most favorite in this thread. Thanks Oasis!

Gorgeous photo. From the looks of the buildings, I still like the Transamerica Pyramid more than Salesforce Tower. It is just more unique.

I agree, but look how this tower dwarfs everything. What is crazy is, that this tower has the same height and volume of WTC3, yet WTC3 makes more or less no huge impact on LM.

Yes it does. A huge mistake not to have one. Most of the major cities in the world have a observation deck on their tallest building or buildings.

Wow!!!! SF is one of the most stunningly beautiful cities in the world, the skyscrapers popping out of the fog and glistening in the morning sun is one of the best skyline photos I've ever seen. My new desktop wallpaper!

Wow, that is truly amazing. As a NYer it's not often I get jealous of another city's skyscrapers, but this one definitely does it!

I know the resemblance of Salesforce with IFC Hong Kong has been mentioned many times (because it's the same architect). But has anyone noticed that 181 Fremont, the other large tower rising in SF, is strikingly similar to another Hong Kong icon: Bank of China Tower?

It's like a lovely mini Hong Kong skyline forming

SAN FRANCISCO | Salesforce Tower | 326m | 1070ft | 61 fl | T/O

this image best shows the building's visually strong texture of the protruding sunshade/awning-like horizontal banding and recessed glazing of each floor when I view it from ground level near its base looking up ..it appears " smooth " from most pics but is not that way in person unless seen from many blocks away !

I really like the cladding of this tower too, it's very subtle and elegant.

When looking up at the tower in person you can see that the vertical supports for the sunshades actually decrease in depth the closer they get to the corners, slightly emphasizing the rounded shape, a really lovely minimalist detail. And with all glass towers like this one, those types of details are important, and the additional texture created by the sunshades make the facade way more dynamic and interesting to look at than I originally thought.

I was honestly pretty worried when the original renders came out, and like most people I wanted the SOM design, but I'm really pleased with how this design is turning out. Now we just have to wait till the Oceanwide Center rises across the street, and the skyline of SF will be even more dramatic!

Do you wish there was a observation deck with Salesforce, cause I do.

I guess for the 181 Fremont building, they took some ideas from the Bank of China Tower. The Salesforce Tower is about 300 feet shorter than the IFC Hong Kong building.
