Ok, but it is not open to the general public which I don't like.

check out this cool effect that happens when there's light fog and the sun reflects off of the tower from the right angle:

i've been really happy with the way the tower's look changes during sunset and sunrise, and stuff like this is icing on the cake

Holy moly!
It seems as if the tower is steaming.

IT"S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!

BTW - Salesforce Tower is a great addition to the San Francisco skyline.

It seems like they are taking forever to finish the crown.

They lit up part of the crown for the first time the other night:

Thank you for these posts showing how the tower interacts with the city. Even before tenants move in, the tower is already part of SF.

So I was in town for the first time in almost a year this weekend and I noticed something.

I usually have a very solid sense of direction, but there’s one big exception: no matter how many times I wander SF in the downtown/Market St area, I always wind up getting disoriented. Don’t know if it’s the weird triangular blocks, the hills or what, it just happens, without fail...

Until this most recent visit. Salesforce, peeking out from just about anywhere, creates a geographic anchor that the city has never really had. It reminds me of the way New Yorkers describe orienting themselves by looking for the Twins.

I hope it will look better than this at night by the time it is finished. If not, than it won't be very impressive.

We can always count on you to be a negative whiner.

Did you miss the part of the post that said "part" of the crown is lit up? It's not the entire thing. And It looks pretty impressive to me, even when only part of it is turned on.

Yeah, isn't there like 4 different light installations going on here? I'm pretty sure it will look great when done.

This was just a temporary up-lighting from the 62 floor area for the Dreamforce Conference week until the actual LED’s which adorn the entire crown structure are finalized and turned on.

Do you know when that would be finalized and turned on?

Rendering from Jim Campbell of what this would've looked like for Dreamforce if fully completed:
