On a related subject.....

Could someone fill me in on the 2 towers currently under construction in San Francisco? There doesn't seem to be any links to them here or in the highrise construction section, but there's no denying what I saw on CNN this morning in San Fran's skyline. I saw two highrises going up a few blocks from one another in the live shot as they were talking about the severe weather there today.

sorry.
I don't know by some are trippin on not choosing SOM's version.

I actually like Pelli's version and it will fit nicely with SF's skyline. The ground part can me modified better or add a but of the SOM style atrium in it.

The SOM proposal is much more dramatic.. I prefer it over the Pelli proposal personally.
The Pelli proposal is much more elegant and simple and will compliment the skyline much better - I like this Pelli proposal a lot also and I hope that they at least build one of them.. Send the SOM proposal down south here to LA where we need some fresh towers, and a new supertall that is bigger than the 310m US Bank Tower.

I can only imagine the engineering that will be put into this building because this area lies in a MAJOR earthquake zone. I personally think they will follow the example of the US Bank tower, by building this new one with an extremely strong concrete core reinforced in all directions on top of some sort of dampning system. The rest of this structure aside from the core will most likely be built with steel.

People in LA had doubt about tall tall structures, but most of those doubts went out the window with the last quake we had. All of the tall buildings in downtown LA held up fine (even the older ones) while thousands of wood frame low rise (and mid rise too) apartment buildings showed dramatic damage...

All mispelled, you'd think that someone who was trying to quote something would be able to copy the spelling from the source.

It will be bad if the Transbay Terminal Redevelopment Project is cancelled.

O.K. , Anybody know if this thing is still on track? I mean
this is a huge project and would be the tallest on the West Coast.
