One of the many, but that's cliché.

So in terms of roof height, this is only going up to 920 feet. Meaning it's falling short to the US Bank Tower, and the Wilshire Grand. The latter going up to 934 feet to it's roof. Regardless, it should be fun seeing the two going up around the same time.

Not really, this building has a parapet extending 'til 326 meters and parapets are counted towards roof height. BY roof height This will be the tallest building on the west coast with US Bank being second and Willshire being third

That's where Wilshire's Spire debate will kick in. I foresee a long debate similar to the 1WTC in regards to this in the near future as to what will truly be the tallest. Parapet or not, the LA junkies are going to make a solid claim on the Spire. 1,100 > 1,070

That's true. The official height and pinnacle height will have Wilshire as the tallest one while roof height will have Transbay as the tallest one. That's a 2:1 victory for Wilshire.

I apologize if this is random, but i'm not familiar with such cases. Could you clear up why the Transbay parapet is allowed to count towards the final roof height, but things such as the Wilshire Crown won't? I understand things like Antennas and Spires, but clear that up for me please.

It's because a parapet is a solid structure from all sides except from the up. Since buildings are normally viewed from the sides a parapet looks more or less identical to the rest of the building. On the other hand an open air lattice crown like the one on Wilshire doesn't look solid and looks more like a structure made of multiple spires. A roof is by definition the top of a building. It doesn't necessarily have to be a horizontal concrete slab, it only has to be something which looks like a solid part of a building and not like an addon while at the same time it has to be sufficiently wide and not just a thin steel stick. I hope this helps. If you have any further questions feel free to ask them, I'll be glad to help

Los Angeles will still have the tallest skyscraper in the West Coast, same as NY's 1WTC and Willis Tower.... Willis Tower might be the tallest by roof height, but 1WTC is the tallest in the Western Hemisphere...

Ehh, I'm not complaining. I like it this way. That way everyone's happy. The San Francisco junkies will have the satisfaction of saying they have the tallest, while the LA fanboys will be able to say the exact same thing except by spire. Everybody wins

I don't count parapets as part of roof height. Because behind the parapet there is nothing, no floors or enclosed areas.
I include enclosed crowns as part of roof height such as the one on Leatop Plaza in Guangzhou.
This building has an open parapet like the one on The Shard. I would figure the roof height for this building is around 930-950 feet.

No offense, but no one cares what you consider to be the true height.

No offense but I wasn't talking to you. Just stating my opinion. If you don't care about it than okay but some people take things like parapets into account just like spires, antennaes, and crowns are also taken into account when looking at different height measurements.

It was part of the conversation above. No need to be rude just because you disagree with him.

Like I said, I didn't mean to be offensive. I just said, in a sense, that I disagree with him.

I think they're looking for an anchor tenant. There was a ceremonial "groundbreaking" in March, but last I heard there was nothing happening at the site.

Why are there so many towers like this? The idea of a tower tapering ever so slightly is overused. Here's a list of buildings that do just that:
1. Transbay Tower
2. Goldman Sachs Building
3. China World Trade Center 3
4. Costanera Center

And many others!
