I'm sure it also has to do with the complexities of supplying building supplies to central San Fran, as well as dealing with the red tape present in virtually every facet of construction in San Fran.

Wasn't there a problem with the foundation, I think faulty parts or the like?

Sad that there is still no construction above ground. It might not get finished for another 3 or 4 years.

3-4 years to watch and enjoy the construction.

All along they said it would be completed in 2017. There is no shot now.

Pouring all that concrete is a huge job. It must take so much consideration and preparation, and flawless execution. I'm happy that in this world we have people who know what they're doing with that sort of thing.

I still will never understand why this is taking so long. The soon to be tallest building in LA seems like it is at least 50% complete and both of them broke grown at around the same time. Both building was scheduled to be completed in the same year.

Actually, I think Wilshire's core is close to topping out. So probably more than halfway completed.

Glad to see them at least finally pouring the foundation slab.

At least this stage is always the slowest, once the first floor above groud is built, I think it will speed up considerably.

Since there has been so much guessing and speculation:

Quote:
Once that starts, it will happen surprisingly fast. “By January, we’ll be above the ground and by the end of 2016 we’ll have topped off at 1,070 feet, the tallest building west of Chicago,” Kain said.

I'm kind of a little skeptical that this can be topped off in only 12 months being that high. I don't know much about construction of buildings, but in 12 months at over 1000 feet high? I don't know. Sounds optimistic to me, but what do I know.
